Controlled alkalinity in a granule.
Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is a crystalline metasilicate carrying five molecules of water of hydration. The bound water makes it markedly easier to handle than anhydrous grades — less dusty, gentler to dose and quick to dissolve at ambient temperature.
It is a mainstay builder in detergent powders, dishwash and institutional cleaning blends, where it supplies alkalinity, softens water, suspends soil and protects metal surfaces from alkaline attack.
Easy handling
Granular and low dusting compared with anhydrous powder.
Fast dissolution
Dissolves readily in cold and warm water.
Metal protection
Buffers alkalinity and inhibits corrosion of aluminium and zinc surfaces.
Low caking
Stable in sealed packing under dry storage.
