The most alkaline silicate in the range.
Sodium orthosilicate carries a higher alkali-to-silica ratio than metasilicate, which makes it the most strongly alkaline product in the silicate family. It is chosen where soil, grease or scale is heavy enough that metasilicate alkalinity alone is not sufficient.
Typical use is in heavy industrial degreasing, tank and equipment cleaning, and descaling compounds. Because of its strength it is handled with proper protective equipment and dosed carefully in formulation.
Very high alkalinity
Attacks heavy grease, carbon and organic soil quickly.
Effective descaling
Used in compounds for scale removal from industrial equipment.
Strong saponification
Converts fatty soils into readily rinsed soaps.
Concentrated dosing
Low addition rates achieve high working alkalinity.
